Consequences of Poor Brushing
Chronic neglect of your dog’s oral health will inevitably lead to serious health complications. Here is a list of poor dental health conditions in dogs:
- Bad Breath: As bacteria thrive unchecked in your puppy's mouth, your dog’s breath will begin to smell bad: very bad. This is the most obvious sign something is amiss in your dog’s mouth.
- Tartar: When food, bacteria, and saliva are left to their own devices plaque forms on the teeth. Eventually, as plaque combines with minerals, tartar forms. Tartar is the foreshadowing periodontal disease.
- Periodontal Disease: As your dog’s teeth are left to decay, periodontal disease will begin to take root. This disease will recede your dog’s gums and, eventually, without treatment, destroy the bone support of the teeth.
